Our archive has more than 75,000 pages of documents, microfilms, audio and video recordings, and photographs. We encourage visitors to arrange a date and time to meet with our archive staff so they can be prepared for you. A research agreement must
be signed.

Our specialized online database tools have data previously extracted from source material for easier online research. They include:
| Raylene Fairfax Research | This database is based on Ms. Fairfax’s 1993 research thesis, and includes genealogical information for African Nova Scotians in Cumberland County. |
| Ship Builders of Cumberland County | This database includes information about ship names, builders and investors. You can also find out what happened. |
| School Register | Current to 1931, this database includes names, ages, calculated birthdates, parents/guardians, and addresses. |
Research Tokens: $25 per hour of access. Tokens can be redeemed at the museum for an hour of individualized assistance.
