In 2019, FamilySearch started collecting Oral History Songs from Elders of tribes throughout Africa. The memory of the Elders who maintained these stories is remarkable, and the songs can contain up to 10 generations of information about family history. They believe that in 5 years, they have collected the histories of over 40 million people.
10 generations may take a family back to the 17th Century. But how do you connect to those histories from Amherst?
This workshop will suggest how to connect to family histories through records that are available at Nova Scotia Archives, Online databases, and the oral history project.
